When you create a new journal entry, the entry is normally blank. However, you can design your own entry templates. When you select a template, the template text is inserted in your entry.
You can also choose to have an entry template automatically inserted in all new journal entries. Or different journals can use different templates.
Create an entry template
The easiest way to create an entry template is to use an existing entry:
- Create a journal entry.
- Enter the text you want to use for your template. You can format the text using different fonts, styles and colors (see: Format Text).
- Click the More button (···) above the journal entry.
- Click the Insert button in the More view, then select Template.
- Choose Save entry as template.
You can create as many templates as you like.
Insert an entry template
- Create a new journal entry.
- Click the More button (···) above the journal entry.
- Click the Insert button in the More view, then select Template.
- Select an existing template. The template text will be inserted in your journal entry.
On your Mac
The Mac version also includes an Insert > Template menu. You can select a template from the menu OR use the keyboard shortcut (cmd-1, cmd-2, etc.) to automatically insert the template at the current cursor position in the entry text.
Manage entry templates
On your iPhone, iPad
- Tap the More button (···) above the journal entry.
- Select App Settings in the More view, then select Journal Templates.
- Tap New Template. Give your template a name and enter the template text.
- Select Choose a Journal if you want the template text to be automatically inserted in all new entries in the selected journal.
To delete a template, swipe LEFT ⇠ over the template row and tap Delete.
On your Mac
- Choose Lifecraft > Settings.
- Select Templates in the Settings window.
- Click the plus [+] button to create a new template. Give your template a name and enter the template text.
- Select Use this template for new entries if you want the template text to be automatically inserted in all new journal entries in the selected journal.
To delete a template, select the template in the Journal Template menu, then click the minus [-] button.
