Lifecraft’s iCloud sync feature should work automatically. But if you’re having trouble syncing your entries between your devices, read on.
Note: if you're having trouble getting Lifecraft to recognize your Premium subscription, please review the subscription help article: Purchasing/Subscription Help
Is Lifecraft Premium enabled?
iCloud syncing requires Lifecraft Premium. You should only enable Premium on one device. If all of your devices use the same Apple ID and iCloud account, Lifecraft Premium should automatically transfer to your other devices.
If Lifecraft Premium isn’t being recognized by one of your devices, make sure that device is signed in with the same Apple ID and iCloud account (see below).
Are you using the same Apple ID and iCloud account on all of your devices?
Apple states: "We recommend that you use the same Apple ID for all Apple services on your device—including the iTunes & App Stores and iCloud. Using multiple Apple IDs might be confusing and cause issues with accessing purchased content or using some services."
Follow the instructions in Set up iCloud Sync and make sure that you’re signed in with the same Apple ID and iCloud account on all of your devices.
What if I used the wrong Apple ID?
If you downloaded Lifecraft or enabled Premium using the wrong Apple ID, you may find it easier to start over from scratch by uninstalling, then re-installing Lifecraft: Uninstall Lifecraft
Do you have enough iCloud storage?
Lifecraft uses iCloud to sync so if you don't have enough iCloud storage, it won't work correctly. Here's how you can check: Manage your iCloud storage
Are you interrupting the sync before it’s complete?
Syncing to iCloud is normally very fast. However, if you import a large number of entries, the first sync can take longer to complete. It’s important that you allow enough time for the sync to complete. You can see when a sync is running by checking the Sync Status.
On your Mac, the sync will run as long as Lifecraft is open (it doesn’t have to be selected). However, on your iPhone/iPad, you must leave Lifecraft open AND selected in order for the sync to finish.
Restart your devices
Sometimes, simply restarting your devices is enough to trigger a sync.
- Restart your Mac, iPhone, iPad.
- Open Lifecraft on each device and create a new journal entry.
- Wait for a minute.
Reset Sync
Resetting the sync can sometimes correct iCloud syncing issues.
- Restart both your Mac and iOS device.
- Open the Sync Settings.
- Click Reset Sync. Leave Lifecraft open and selected until the sync completely finishes.
