Share and Share Alike
Clip content from other apps.
Ever see a button that looks like this? Wonder what it's for?
That's the "Share" button. When you see that button, you'll know that the app is ready to share its content with other apps.
Suppose you run across an interesting article in the News app and want to write about it in your journal. Tap the Share button and choose "Lifecraft". A Lifecraft window will appear -- you can then save the article as a new journal entry.
Now suppose you run across a second interesting article (lucky you!) Tap the Share button again. This time, select the entry you created previously in the Share window. The article will then be added to the end of that entry.
This lets you quickly save text, links and photos to Lifecraft, without even launching the app. You can save them as new entries or add them to any existing entry.

Drawing
Let your imagination run wild!
Before the advent of word processing in the late 1970's, writing involved a pen or typewriter and actual paper. There was a permanence to written documents because they were so hard to change. Anyone remember Liquid Paper?
Now, it's trivial to cut and paste, change formatting, or use auto-correct. It's made journal writing exceptionally easy -- even if we sometimes struggle with what to write (Lifecraft can help).
But there's something magical about an old school journal, complete with handwriting and pictures/doodles. It's got personality! And with the latest version of Lifecraft, you can inject some personality back into your journal.
Use Lifecraft's Drawing feature to add drawings anywhere in a journal entry. You can mix text with handwritten notes and sketches. Drawings are created in the iOS version of Lifecraft. An iPad with an Apple Pencil provides the most flexibility, but you can still create a work of art with just your finger (or at least a finger painting.)☝️👩🎨 Even a simple drawing will be something you treasure down the road.

Emotions
The universal language.
“Emotions are the universal language…. They are the authentic expression of who you are at your deepest place.” — Judith Wright
We all want to understand what makes us tick. But life's inherent messiness makes it difficult to recognize our deeper motivations. That's where Lifecraft's emotion tracking features come in. Regularly recording your Emotions and watching for trends in your Emotion Charts will help you understand your own "universal language".

Text Styles
Fancy typography made easy.
Format your journal entries with different heading styles like Heading 1, Heading 2, Body, etc. Each style has a different font size and line spacing. If you would prefer that all of your journal entries automatically start with a Heading, change the first line style in the Text Settings/Preferences.
We've also made it easier to start numbered/bulleted lists. Rather than using the text controls to create a list, you can now simply type a number or bullet to automatically start a list. See Format Text to learn how this feature works.

Capture Life

The latest version of Lifecraft makes it easy to capture content (text, photos, and URLs) in other apps and save this content to your journal entries. Simply select the content, tap Share, and then tap the Lifecraft icon. It’s that easy and you don’t have to leave the other application you’re using.
Plus, on iOS, you can now make Siri Shortcuts for creating journal entries, opening your journal, and saving emotions. Use these shortcuts along with shortcuts from other apps to create powerful automated tasks.

Importing
Improvements coming soon.
Lifecraft was recently featured in the iOS App Store — hurray! Some of you are writing to us saying that you have an iPhone and want to know how to import your entries from your previous journal app. Here’s the scoop on importing: the current version of Lifecraft for macOS can import entries from text files or Day One (Classic or v2). After importing your entries into the macOS version, you can use the iCloud Sync feature (available with Lifecraft Pro) to sync your entries to your iPhone.
But what if I don't have a Mac?
Great question! We’ll be adding the ability to import directly into the iOS version of Lifecraft shortly. Right now, we’re very busy working on some significant new features for Lifecraft. We don’t want to spoil the surprise, but these new features will literally transform Lifecraft. We expect that the iOS import feature will be included in the new version of Lifecraft that we’ll be releasing in the near future. In the meantime, feel free to start journaling in Lifecraft and you should be able to import all of your old entries very soon.

3-Phase Encryption
Enjoy class leading privacy.
Privacy is really important to us. Whether it's our own privacy or the privacy of our customers, it's all the same. To this end, we baked privacy into Lifecraft from the very beginning and we did it in a way that no one else was doing. We call it 3-Phase Encryption. Here's how it works:
Phase 1. The usual approach to privacy for a journal app is to encrypt only the journal entries on the device. We didn't think that approach was sufficient. We wanted everything (not just the entries) encrypted, so that's exactly what we did. We call it whole database encryption and it means the entire database is encrypted including your journals, entries, tags, emotions, attachments, dates, location information, weather information, etc. Further, modern databases uses built-in indexes to make searching fast. With Lifecraft, these indexes are also encrypted in the database. It's nice knowing that everything really does mean everything!
We're really happy about whole database encryption since it means even the little details about your life that many consider to be "unimportant metadata" are encrypted and thus kept private. After all, the name of a journal or tag can actually reveal a lot about your life. Note: Lifecraft uses industry-standard AES-256 encryption for whole database encryption on your device for your peace of mind.
Phase 2. When your Lifecraft information is synced to and from iCloud over the internet, it's encrypted using Apple's highly regarded and proven encryption technology. You can thus rest assured that your information is safe while in transit.
Phase 3. When your Lifecraft information is stored on iCloud's servers, it is stored in encrypted form using Apple's highly-reliable encryption technology.
As you can see, 3-Phase Encryption ensures that all of your information in Lifecraft is always encrypted whether it's on your devices, in transit to/from the cloud, or sitting in the cloud. This was our design goal from the very beginning and Lifecraft was built around this requirement. It wasn't easy making 3-Phase Encryption a reality, but we knew it would be worth it. We hope you sleep better knowing that your thoughts, dreams, and stories are secure with Lifecraft. We do.
